Summarize & repurpose content
If you already have long content, you don’t need to start over. This quick start shows how to summarize once and repurpose it into multiple formats using ChatGPT and Opus Clip.
When to use this
- You have long articles, scripts, or videos
- You want to reuse existing content instead of creating new ones
- You need short-form content for social platforms
- You want faster output with less creative fatigue
Practical workflow
Step 1: Summarize with intent (ChatGPT)
Paste your content and decide the goal:
- Short explanation
- Key takeaways
- Hook-based summary
Ask ChatGPT to compress the content without losing the main message.
Step 2: Extract reusable angles
From the summary, identify:
- 3–5 key points
- Strong opening lines
- Quotes or moments worth highlighting
These become inputs for multiple formats.
Step 3: Turn summaries into short clips (Opus Clip)
If your source is a video:
- Upload the original video
- Let Opus Clip find highlight-worthy segments
- Use the summary to guide which clips matter most
This avoids random clips and keeps the message focused.
Example
Before:
A 20-minute talk or 1,500-word article.
After:
- 1 short summary post
- 3 hook-based social clips
- 1 reusable caption or script
AI Prompt Tip
Try this with ChatGPT:
“Summarize this content into 5 key points, then rewrite each point as a short hook suitable for a 30-second video.”
What you get
- One idea turned into multiple assets
- Less content waste
- A repeatable system for content reuse
